It was quite an interesting year spiced up by global pandemics but we enjoyed it nevertheless:)
Circular Design Challenge is one of India’s largest fashion sustainability awards given to businesses practicing principles of circular fashion and organized by @r.elan.official in collaboration with @unep

Happy New Year dear coconut lovers! We hope the start of the year has been good for you - on our end nothing catastrophic happened so far :-)
We would like to tell you a little more about the new topics we will be talking to you about this year. In 2021 we'd like to tell you more about composting. We will aslo be preparing tutorials for those of you who'd like to learn how to work with our materials.

To begin with we would like to give you couple of tips on how to restore your older malai products. Because caring for your Malai product in the right way can make a huge difference in terms of material's lifespan. Do you remember a wallet @playbag_bags made of Malai in 2018? - A coconut lover we know bought it in that year and has used it ever since. The wallet has been subjected to quite an array of wear as he mostly carried it in the back pocket of his pants. We saw the wallet again few weeks ago and noticed the wallet is still holding together well but the surface has been abraded and remined a suede leather more now. We decided to restore it for him and protect the surface from water and abrasion. How can you do the same?

follow the steps below :
1. clean the product from all dust and dirt using dam cloth. Don't scrub the surface, just rub off the dust gently. Let dry.
2. prepare a solution of water based glue and water (1:3). Apply the solution on all the affected surface and let dry. You can repeat the step 2-3 times
3. once the surface is dry apply Tung oil ( available in hardware stores as product for wood treatment - do only get the pure oil, not its synthetic substitutes). If you cannot source Tung oil rub the surgace with polishing wax or coconut oil.
4. Voila! The life of your Malai products has been extended :-)
